Miami-Key Largo Race -
MUG Race
The MUG is a 38 mile distance race from Palatka to Jacksonville
Florida on the St. John's River hosted by the Rudder Club of Jacksonville. For the
9th year in a row
the MUG Race utilized a reverse handicap start and awarded the coveted MUG Cup to the
first boat to cross the finish line. The wind conditions started out good
and pushed the RC-27's
& RC -30
through the entire fleet and into the lead. Mid day there was a lull in the
wind, which filled in the afternoon and and first benefited many of the boats
that were further back, but when the wind arrived at the front of the fleet Bill
& Eric Roberts were able to pull away again taking line honors and the coveted MUG Cup
for the 16th time.
